Our notes
This has become our default everyday lead for our dogs. What we like most is how uncomplicated it feels to use: the plaited leather is slim and lightweight in the hand, without the bulk you can get from heavily padded or multi-function leads, and it works particularly well for straightforward everyday walks.
We have a number of these in different lengths and widths, and each one suits a slightly different type of walk. The shorter lead is particularly useful when we want closer control, such as around roads, livestock or busier areas. The medium and longer versions give the dogs a little more freedom while still keeping the simplicity and feel we like about the lead, making them better suited to general countryside and everyday walking.
The fact we’re planning to buy another probably says more about our experience with it than a long list of specifications: it’s simple, lightweight and has become the lead we naturally reach for.
